The company operates three crude oil distillation units with aggregate processing capacity of 580,000 barrels a day and a large-scale bunker-C cracking center.

Its lubricant products include automotive engine/gear oils, marine oils, hydraulic fluids, turbine oils, industrial gear oils, quenching oils, rolling oils, punching oils, refrigeration oils, mechanic oils, and insulating and rolling oils; and petrochemical products comprise para-xylene, benzene, toluene, and xylene.

In addition, the company removes sulfur contained in the sulfur bunker-C oil and produces low-sulfur kerosene and diesel.

Further, the company imports and exports crude oil and other oil based products.

The company was founded in 1976 as Korea-Iran Petroleum Co., Ltd. and changed its name to Ssangyong Oil Refining Co., Ltd. in 1980.

Further, the company changed its name to S-Oil Corporation in 2000.

S-Oil Corporation is headquartered in Seoul, South Korea.
